This site collects very little, and this page says exactly what, why and for how long. No cookies are set before you agree to them, and nothing you send is sold or passed to anyone for marketing.

Who is responsible

What is collected
Two things, and only two.
What you type into a form. The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. The training form asks for your first name, email address, which training levels interest you, and how you heard about Quietwork. Nothing is collected that the form does not visibly ask for.
Analytics, but only if you accept. If you press Accept on the cookie notice, Google Analytics is loaded and counts page views. If you press Decline, or ignore the notice entirely, it is never loaded and sets nothing. There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no third-party embeds on this site.
Why, and on what basis
Enquiries are used to reply to you and to carry out any work that follows. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you sent an enquiry and the reasonable expectation is an answer. If you go on to become a client, the basis becomes performance of a contract.
Analytics runs on consent, and only consent. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it.
Where it goes
A submitted form is sent to an automation server that Quietwork runs on its own virtual private server, hosted by Hostinger in Manchester, England. That server emails the enquiry to owen@quietwork.co.uk, which is a Google Gmail account, so Google processes and stores that email in the ordinary course of delivering it.
Google Analytics data, if you accepted it, goes to Google and may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States, under Google's own terms and safeguards.
That is the complete list. Your details are not sold, rented, or passed to anyone for marketing, and there is no mailing list to be added to.
How long it is kept
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months from your last contact, then deleted. If you become a client, the records that belong to that work are kept for six years after the end of the relationship, which is the period UK tax and company records require.
Analytics data is retained by Google under the settings on the Quietwork property and is not tied to your name or email.
Cookies, precisely
Before you choose, this site sets no cookies at all. The cookie notice itself does not need one: your answer is stored in your browser's local storage under the key qw_cookie_consent, which stays on your device and is never sent to any server.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to count visits. If you decline, it is never loaded.
To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser, which removes the stored answer and brings the notice back, or email and ask.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to it being used, ask for its use to be restricted, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent for analytics. There is no charge and no form to fill in. Email owen@quietwork.co.uk and it will be dealt with within one month.
If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. You are welcome to go to them first, but raising it here is usually faster.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions, so if a change matters to you, the current text is the one that applies.
